CARDIOPULMONARY REHAB
OVERNIGHT OXIMETRY STUDY
ASTHMA / COPD EDUCATION

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is a program of education and exercise to increase awareness about your lungs and disease. You will learn to achieve exercise with less shortness of breath to improve your maximal potential for your daily living activities. Exercising your lungs and your muscles helps you be more active so you can do the things you enjoy with your loved ones. Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation may even decrease the need for hospital visits or oxygen needs.

An overnight oximetry study is done at home to evaluate your blood oxygen levels and heart rate while you sleep. This test helps identify potential sleep disorders like sleep apnea or oxygen requirements for severe lung disease like COPD

Respiratory Therapist will provide patients with education on the severity of their asthma and ways to control it. Patients will be provided with PEAK FLOW, AEROCHAMBER to assist with inhalers. Making sure the patient will have what they need to assist in managing their asthma.

PULMONARY STRESS TEST / 6 MWT
CHEST PHYSIOTHERAPY / BRONCHIAL HYGIENE THERAPY
FULL PFT WITH DLCO & SPIROMETRY

In this procedure, your doctor will order to assess exercise-induced bronchospasm to evaluate your lung function and to diagnose certain lung disorders.

The 6 MWT is an assessment that your doctor may use to determine your exercise tolerance. It is a low risk that measures how far a person can walk in 6 minutes. This is useful for measuring the functional ability of people with certain lung conditions and their needs for OXYGEN therapy.

Bronchial Hygiene Therapy (BHT) is a broad term used to describe various airway clearance techniques: chest physiotherapy (which consists of postural drainage, percussion, vibration, coughing, and suctioning), breathing exercises (such as huffing and diaphragmatic breathing used in spontaneously breathing patients.

FeNO TESTING

FeNO (Fractional Exhale Nitric Oxide) test measurements indicate levels of airway inflammation, which can help doctors personalize treatment plans for patients by helping titrate inhaled corticosteroid dosing and evaluate patient adherence to treatment.

  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) The primary purpose of pulmonary function testing is to identify the severity of pulmonary impairment. PFTs will help your doctor:

  • Detect narrowing in your lungs’ airways.

  • Identify early changes in your lungs’ ability to transfer oxygen to your blood.

  • Measure the effects of continued smoking on chronic pulmonary diseases.

  • Decide if medications may help improve your breathing.

  • Understand if exposure to substances in your environment has affected your lungs.

  • Determine your ability to tolerate surgery or other medical procedures.
